Ward Maquet
what a pity... this guy was really well trained by Bradok (got 12 ups last season), was sold yesterday to a spanish team and immediately after that fired. If he doesn't find a home, he will be lost (definitely fired)

wondering if he can't be trained as PF... do we have time to do it?
my training spots are fullbooked at this moment...

(this season IS/ID and some RB in the two-games weeks, next season rebounding and some shotblocking... wondering...)

I'm hesitating as I think you still can got both ways: SG or PF
in case of SG you'll indeed need this pressing
in case op PF, inside training is requested

let's see if others have some specific views on this Very Happy

As he's allstar and 203 cm, training inside skills is a good option. But no insurance about selection of course.

If no one bids, I will but I'll train outside skills with Ive Mommaerts

Louis Lorand

might be worth a look, he has trained so far, as much as I can tell. I'd be taking him if I had a spot :s

The thing is... He fits perfectly into the training program of my 19 yo HoF, better than my 18 yo MVP, who is his training partner for the moment. So he would be a better replacement for the 18 yo MVP, who I would have to put on the TL next season (after the Rebounding training)

no problem...
just inform me if you're not online at the auction-time and if there is another bid (and within my financial possibilities) I'll see if I can acquire him. However, in normal circumstances, I'll leave him in your hands ;-)

Just a question : what would be his training plan ? because i'm working on 2 SF and a third player could be nice too...He's a little big but why not....

I would start with still some more 1vs1
afterwards the inside def
and after that some outside def and passing before starting the further inside training
(this is what i would do... but different opinions are possible)

For me, he would get Rebounding till the allstar break next season and I would continue with SB training for the remainder of the season.
In season 43 he would get OD, PA and 1vs1.

I like your view (which perfectly fits with my training....). What about IS ? Don't you try to put it high before training ID (Aspiration ? @Joe What do you think about it ?)

he'll get some IS while training 1vs1 and ID. I would wait and see how much it increases (we have already lvl 10). Getting IS to high has consequences on his salary. Personnaly I would increase ID, and then switch to OD training (OD is not an easy one on such tall guys, so I prefer it to do as soon as possible, but after the 1vs1 and ID). However skills of the other trainees should also be taken into account Wink

You do OD as soon as possible, after 1v1 as you said. But OD is to be done always before ID, because training OD also raises ID, but not the other way round. Otherwise, on a general basis, you have to train big guys on their outside skills as quickly as possible. Please don't forget a little bit of passing !

1v1 has trained IS, which is the following target once you're out of outside training. Then ID, then SB, and rebound last because rebound gets massive aspiration boost but doesn't train anything besides itself (1.75 week per pop in rebounding vs 10 IS and ID, which means with negative aspiration you can make almost a full season rebound training without any pop).

I probably won't buy him. I was hesitating as one of my trainees was a mistake to buy BUT I'm on my way to be last (I hope) and so I hope getting a great draftee. There I'll have 3 trainees which I hope will be the basis of a Great team. So Buy him if you can Wink

If I understood Joe's aspiration theory as it should, ID is to be trained before OD to get maximum aspiration. However you're right to state OD traines ID, so ID should not be trained to the final goal before starting OD.

AnGi is right, it's better to have a high level in ID when you train OD, but you don't need a high level of OD when you train ID. That's why when you train a big you have to train in this order:

1) 1on1 SF/PF => you increase aspiration for OD, JR and PA + you also train IS. You can also train JS SF/PF because it's the same kind of training.

2) ID (and IS if the level is not high enough) => by training ID you increase aspiration for OD.

3) OD, JR and PA. Since you train a big you won't train 1on1 anymore so except for OD you won't increase aspiration in the future for these 3 skills => Better to train them when the player is still young for 2 reasons : to not increase the salary too quickly and because in the best case the player is tall.

4) Inside skills.

There's also a theory that says it's better to train SB before ID because SB is faster. But the unconvenient part is that delays the outside trainings.

No room for him anymore in my team, he's on his way for U21 and could enter into many different training plan.
1000$ starting bid, I didn't trained him for money.

http://www.buzzerbeater.com/player/44243387/overview.aspx

Xavier Turpin (44243387)
18 years
Height: 6'8" / 203 cm

Outside Def.: respectable Handling: mediocre
Driving: respectable Passing: pitiful
Inside Shot: strong Inside Def.: respectable
Rebounding: mediocre Shot Blocking: respectable

I guess he'll pop on rebound tomorrow, if not he's high...
He popped in Inside Shot, so he's high in rebound.
